My View of Hardpressed by Meredith Wild

In this book, which is number two in this series, Erica thinks that this new chapter in her life will be the happiest one she's ever had. Boy, is she totally wrong.

She finds her father and that was supposed to be a decent relationship. Maybe not a particularly close one but civil. It turned out to be a lot more trouble than it was worth.

While he runs in an election for Governor, he wants Erica's help with the media aspect. However, his step-son Mark is the one who raped Erica years ago and is causing problems now.

Blake, Erica's boyfriend, told him that he needed to send Mark away. Where, he didn't care just get him and keep him away from Erica. That was the wrong tactic to take with this guy because he killed his step-son and made it look like a suicide.

After, he told Erica about it and also gave her an ultimatum. She ditches her company and works for him as well as dump Blake or he removes Blake from the equation permanently.

This was supposed to be a happy time in her life, she found someone she loves deeply and her father, whom she had never known. Instead it's turning into a nightmare.

Erica's choice rocks her world and Blake's. To protect the man she loves, she dumped him. Weeks they spent in their own personal hell just because she loved him too much to be the cause of his death.

How will they find their way back to each other? Especially now that an employee of hers knows she's single and wants a shot at her heart.

Things just got crazy in Erica's life and all she wants to do is be happy.

That's all anyone ever wants yet continuously it seems to be just out of Erica's reach. I'm rooting for her because her pain is  literally breaking my heart here.
