Escape Part Two by Sydney Holmes

Shane has finally found the love of his life but is he strong enough to keep her?
Rowan is finally living the life she's always wanted but is she strong enough to fight and keep it?

Escape Part One laid the foundation of the relationship budding between Shane and Rowan but now in Part Two we find out if they're strong enough to fight for their love and keep the life that they've started to build together.

It's time for all the secrets to come out now and Shane is determined to protect Rowan at any cost. While Rowan's gut instinct is to run, she has to find the strength to trust Shane to help her fight her demons.

Finally seeing Rowan happy, Justin is willing to do what it takes on his part to keep her that way. Shane's friends and the ones that he runs his PI company with are also willing to stand by their best friend.

A new threat is rising. The cult is now looking for them nationwide and has now hired Shane's company to help them.

This threat is hitting close to home and it' scaring Rowan to no end. Now not only does she have to trust Shane but now she has to place her trust in two other men she knows nothing about.

The fear is real. The battle has just begun.

Who will win?
Shane and Rowan or the cult that seems dead set on Rowan returning to them?

Hopefully I did the book justice without giving too much away :)

Happy reading everyone!!!!

Hardpressed by Meredith Wild The Hacker Series Book 2

Hardpressed is the second book in Meredith Wild's Hacker Series.

If you got addicted to book one this one will capture you even more. I thought that I had posted the synopsis already but as I can see I haven't yet. Bad me, I'm falling behind again.

I hope that everyone enjoys this because, as I read farther into this series I became more addicted to it. Hopefully I at least give you something to look into.

Without further ado, here's the synopsis:

"In Hardpressed, the highly anticipated second book of the Hacker series that began with Hardwired, Blake and Erica face threats that put both their love and their lives on the line.

Despite Blake Landon's controlling ways, the young and wealthy hacker finally won the trust of the woman he loves. Internet entrepreneur Erica Hathaway broke down the walls that kept her from opening her heart and her business to Blake.

Ready to start this new chapter in her life, Erica is determined not to let anything come between them, even if that means giving Blake back some of the control he craves in and out of the bedroom.

But when demons from the past threaten their future, Erica makes a decision that could change their lives forever."

It's a good synopsis this time lol. I can agree with it completely.

Curious yet?

Hardwired- Meredith Wild After Reading

Erica Hathaway just graduated college and has a start up fashion website with her best friend Alli and another friend Sid. Her professor got her a board meeting with a friend of his, Max at Angelcom to try to get an investment so Erica could get the website off the ground.

What she didn't expect however, was to meet the mysterious and handsome Blake Landon. For Blake one night of passion led to him being captivated by Erica and he just had to see more of her.

In the boardroom he turned down her pitch which devastated her but Max picked her up. It was a decent day all together.

Neither of them expected things to get hot and heavy between them so fast. Erica had no choice but to tell Blake about her past. As a freshman in College, her and a few friends went to a frat party, it was there she was raped and just left in the bushes.

When she told him, the tears and the upset were there but so was the self-loathing. Erica actually couldn't believe that Blake still wanted her.

Blake himself has many issues and one of his quirks is control. Blake has to be dominant in the bedroom and for Erica he's learning to let go of some of his control in public.

It's something that they both have to get used to, especially when Blake says that he loves her. When he loves, he must protect and to go about that without controlling or stalking isn't something he knows how to do yet.

It's interesting to watch these two damaged people get to know and fall in love with each other. It's true that Blake used to be a hacker, part of a group called M89. He's made some enemies and Erica is messed up.

However, Erica is big on control for other reasons. She wants to control her own life mainly because she's fought to get that control back. Now Blake wants to take that away from her again in a different way. For Erica, this is still one of the most scariest things she's ever contemplated on doing.

They have to learn to trust each other or what they have will go down in flames.

Feel free to share any thoughts or comments you have on the book. I look forward to reading them :)

Bound by Flames by Jeaniene Frost

So we temporarily conclude the Night Prince series by Jeaniene Frost with Bound by Flames. It moves much quicker than I thought it would and we got redundant.

Now that Leila is a vampire, Vlad is treating her like an equal in certain ways. However when it comes to protecting her it's a job that he doesn't take lightly.

While Vlad goes out in search of his old enemy, he wants Leila to stay home and safe with his men. Sounds good right. The beginning of the book is starting off great because Leila will be safe seeing as she agrees to stay home.

That was all part of his enemies plan. Though Leila being home wasn't nothing but luck for him. She gets kidnapped....again.

See the redundancy yet?

Trying to get one step ahead of his enemy, Vlad had gone to see his old friend Maximus, who he had banished to try to get him to agree to be his spy. With knowledge of his banishment no one would suspect that Vlad would employ Maximus again and there would more than likely be a grudge.

It is actually lucky for Leila that Maximus had agreed to this plan because once she is kidnapped, it's Maximus that actually makes it just slightly easier on her compared to the horrors that could have been.

Leila endured her skin being flayed off of her and mock rape. It was horrible for her in more than one way. With her powers, she lives with essences, when her skin was flayed, he took off her sister's and father's and most importantly her mother's essence leaving her feeling like a stranger in her new skin.

It takes her time to get some kind of strength back, and even for a time she can only just see Vlad. She can see how mad he is and mad isn't even the word he was beyond livid. Vlad actually burned the rest of his house down he was so mad. Finally she gets to him and was able to tell him where she was.

The rescue was weird because Vlad's friend Cat summoned the dead to help get her out and Vlad had to wear a disguise to get to her. Obviously this isn't the whole story though, if you think about it, you probably could make that one whole story.

Anyway, I didn't write it and Jeaniene obviously didn't want that to be the whole story.

It's weird for Leila to be around everyone again and touching is weird but good. It's really hard for Leila to be touched by Vlad because when Maximus had snuck in blood for her she felt like she was cheating on Vlad. It's not something that sat well with her.

When she finally told him, he didn't hold anything against her. It's a natural reaction for a vampire that has been deprived of blood to act wild when they finally get it. It wasn't a big deal.

The whole situation had take some getting used to, especially when Leila falls asleep and tries to kill Vlad and herself. Turns out that Vlad's enemy got smart and had a necromancer put a spell on her. One that not even Vlad's old mentor, Mecheres, can break. The solution....burn Leila while she sleeps to weaken the spell.

Thanks to Mencheres though, with magic he grows her hair back...all of it. The kind on her head and eyebrows. It's a long journey to get to the bottom of everything and then add in the battle of fighting Vlad's anger as well.

But wait, there's more!!!!

Leila is connected the necromancer. Anything that happens to one happens to the other.

Uh-oh!! What happens now?

Twice Tempted by Jeaniene Frost

My seventh book of the year was Twice Tempted by Jeaniene Frost. Now I saw that many know of this series and the author but I still like putting up the synopsis on the back of the book for those who don't know about it.

I personally love the series and find it addicting but then again I can bury myself in almost any world that's not my own.

Please enjoy this synopsis and I'll try to be back this afternoon for my own little overview. I'll even try not to give out any spoilers.

"Dating the Prince of Darkness has its challenges...

Leila's psychic abilities have been failing her, and now she isn't sure what the future holds/ If that weren't enough, her lover Vlad has been acting distant. Though Leila is a mere mortal, she's also a modern woman who refuses to accept the cold shoulder treatment forever--especially from the darkly handsome vampire who still won't admit that he loves her...

Like choosing between eternal love and a loveless eternity....

Soon circumstances send Leila back to the carnival circuit, where tragedy strikes. And when she finds herself in the crosshairs of a killer who may be closer than she realizes, Leila must decide who to trust--the fiery vampire who arouses her passions like no other or the tortured knight who longs to be more than a friend? With danger stalking her every step of the way, all it takes is one wrong move to damn her for eternity..."

I hope this interests some of you that look for new authors to read.

Falling Behind Again by Three Books

Yes, I know that I made a promise and I'm falling horribly behind on it. See my computer crashed and I had to get it fixed. In the day and a half that I didn't have my computer I went through three books.

Totally involved in the Night Prince Series, I finished them in record time for me. I also started writing again so I put some energy into that as well.

Needless to say I have some catching up to do.

This is the first book in the Night Prince Series by Jeaniene Frost. I posted the synopsis from the back of the book, I believe last Thursday or so. I re-shared it though so feel free to look at it.

Since I'm done with the book however, this is not a synopsis.

Leila just wants to live out the rest of her life as normal as possible. It's not that easy to begin with since when she was 13 she touched a live wire behind her house. Now she can electrocute people with the slightest touch and glean psychic impressions with her right hand. With one touch of her right hand she can tell you your darkest sin as well as find your past, find you in the present and sometimes your future.

She had made herself a decent life working with her vampire friend Marty in a carnival. Then one accident changed all of that.

While she was out looking for Marty one day, Leila accidentally caught a guy that was going to murder his wife because she had wanted a divorce. That one touch of her hand gave her a status she would live to be thankful for....but the thankful feeling comes later. Much later.

First she has to get through being kidnapped by, I think, four crazy vampires that kidnap her to try and find the vampire that killed their friend. Weird right, revenge? Anyway, that wasn't the real gold mine.

The whole point of them finding her and her finding this vamp was for another vampire. Yes, there was one behind the creepy four puling their strings.

And the vampire Leila had to find....none other than Vlad Tepesh, THE Vlad Tepesh, the vampire behind the Dracula stories but to save your own life, never call him Dracula.

There's something that burns bright between those two and Leila refuses to accept it at first. She's lived a very jaded life because of her accident and she is not enthused with Vlad's demeanor.

He's brutal and violent.....and she can't deny that she wants him like she's never wanted anyone before.

This whole book lays the ground work for a relationship between Leila and Vlad plus it flushes out that Vlad's enemy is one that he's had for centuries. It just took him a while to gather the strength to fight against Vlad.

This book is a must read in my opinion. I dare not say too much more for I wouldn't want to give anything away.

Enjoy :)

Book Five of the Year Finished

So No In Between was my fifth book of the year and I finished it as of today. The end of this does contain a bit of a spoiler by the way.

To me it wasn't as long as the others when in actuality it was about the same length and the previous three books. This time however, we get a happy ending.

Like most though, it's not just about the ending. It's about the journey as well.

In this book, Sara must find her strength and fight back, against everything. Mark is shut down and he's kicking at everyone. Chris is trying to fight his demons and stand beside Sara no matter what.

Everyone has a stake in this murder trial against Ava but first they have to get through the bail hearing, and Ava's lawyers are pulling out all the stops to make sure that she can get out.

What seems impossible has become possible. There's no body to prove murder, just four witnesses to bring up attempted murder charges.

Panic attacks start coming at Sara again and there's only one person that can help her take them on. Chris Merritt has made good on his promise to never leave Sara again. He says and I just have to quote this "I left you once and it's a mistake I won't be repeating."

So sweet it just makes your heart go pitter patter lol.

With all the bad in this book there is one clear thing. Chris and Sara are amazing for each other. Thier love can seriously conquer all.

The question though that this book truly leaves in your mind, is will Mark be ok? He was the guy that we loved to hate throughout this series and now he's hurt beyond words.

The sweetest part though and I have to share this so I should probably put up a spoiler alert.

Anyway, about the middle of the book you finally see the ring that Chris is designing for Sara. It's absolutely gorgeous with intertwining roses and the gems in the ring are being kept secret for now.

If you have read the books though and are like me, you were expecting a dragon of some time. Not that the rose ring is a disappointment because it's not but not expected.

At the end Chris finally does what we expected. Chris had designed a dragon ring for her left finger the same side that his dragon tattoo is on. The ring symbolizes not his love for her, no that was the roses. No this ring means so much more, it's the strength that he finds in her. Sara is literally his rock and strength.

Together they finally beat the whip that was hanging over their heads. When Amber died, (she killed herself) Sara was terrified that Chris would walk out the door and head for the whip instead of her. Instead he went into his art studio and worked. When he got all of his emotions out on paper he got lost in Sara.

The whip was never even a temptation to him. Chris just needed her.

This book had me so torn up when I read it. An emotional roller coaster if you wish to call it that. It's definitely something that I'm recommending to all my friends.

No In Between- Lisa Renee Jones

I started this one about two days ago actually. See I really need to do a better job keeping up with this.

No in Between is the fourth book in Lisa Renee Jones' Inside Out Series. Originally it was a trilogy but I'm finding out that when an author says that there's going to be another couple books after the last one because there is always more to be said.

This series was no different. She could have ended the series after Revealing Us but there's still Ella missing and what's going on with Mark Compton.

In book four, Sara and Chris are back in San Fransisco to "aid" the police investigation of Rebecca's murder. The police there are running all kinds of theories that may or may not be probable.

They had called Sara in Paris to say that Ava was accusing Sara of murdering Rebecca and blackmailed Mark so Ava had confessed to protect her "Master."

Now the cops are switching gears, they are asking questions to see if maybe Sara murdered Rebecca to endure her dream job would stay hers. They are also going down the avenue that maybe Mark had something to do with this mystery and maybe even Chris.

Things have just become a hot mess for everyone involved now. Sara's even going back to work for Allure (Mark's art gallery) for a few weeks while things are getting settled. Mark's mom is battling stage 3 breast cancer and ended up with a blood infection just before he came back to talk to the police.

I can't imagine what Mark is going through right now. All that pain he has just got to be feeling over everything. It honestly makes your heart hurt.

Before I say anything else here's the synopsis from the back of the book so you can draw your own conclusions:

"Was Rebecca murdered--or has she simply vanished? Sara's obsession with Rebecca's fate has already lead her into danger once. Now the woman who nearly killed her is making accusations that implicate Sara in Rebecca's disappearance. Forced to defend herself to police investigators, Sara must expose dark private pleasures that she and her fiance, Chris, share. And while Chris remains strong and supportive, the formerly invincible Mark is crumbling. He's been too intimate a part of their lives to let that happen...but will he accept help?

Although Sara and Chris love each other deeply, the pressure is triggering past pains. To make it through this, they must face and reveal their final fears: Everything must be exposed, and their hearts and bodies will be pushed to the limits. There can be no shame. No more secrets. No in between..."

Yeah, it definitely leaves you wanting more lol.

Mysterious by Nora Roberts Part 3 Final Post

The third and final book in Mysterious is The Right Path.

I really like this one because it is like one of the fantasies you have of romance when you're young. Morgan is finally convinced by her best friend Liz to come take a vacation and visit her in Greece.

It was there though that she had also been frightened out of her wits. Morgan went for a midnight swim and found herself assaulted by a handsome stranger. It was that assailment that changed the reason why she was there.

Morgan had a mystery to solve and she was going to solve it. Love did not enter into the equation for her yet it happened.

Nicholas Gregoras is half Greek and around Morgan that's the only side that seems to show itself. WOrking for a secret organization, Nick must keep Morgan at a safe distance. His organization wants to use her but all he can think about is keeping her safe.

Everything is horrible. The timing mainly. Nick is trying to bust a smuggling ring and can't afford to not be able to take risks. Yet Morgan keeps getting in the way.

In the end it's together that they end the ring and together they will start their life together in Greece. It's truly a pirate story for adults.

THe story that we all make up in our minds when we're young. That we'll have an adventure and meet some dark handsome stranger that somehow saves us and then we go on adventures together till the end of time.

lol very fanciful I have to admit.

Mysterious by Nora Roberts Part 2

The second story in this novel is Search for Love.

I will even admit that this one isn't one of my favorites that Nora Roberts has done. I'll read it and like it but not one of my favs.

This time we follow Serenity Smith to Brittany to meet her long lost maternal grandmother. It's only been a short time since her parents had died in a plane crash and now her grandmother has practically summoned her across the ocean to visit.

For Serenity this was her last connection to her mom and she wasn't going to miss out on this opportunity. She had to wonder though, why her parents never spoke about her grandmother...ever.

Soon she would see why. However, first she will meet her kissing cousin, Christophe de Kergallen, who dislikes her on the spot....or at least that's how he makes it seem.

For as much as they fight throughout the story you would think that they hate each other with a passion. Serenity takes great pains to conceal that she's fallen in love with this cold aristocrat.

Even Christophe felt Serenity bewitched him the moment she stepped off the train. But what her Grandmother the Comtesse Francoise de Kergallen has told him of Serenity's father makes what he feels for her wrong.

See, before Serenity was even born the Comtesse had a Raphael that she wanted cleaned  and entrusted her father to do so. She had thought nothing of him being there, seeing as her daughter was already engaged to another man. So the day that she fainted in the garden and told the Comtesse that she was pregnant, it was a great shock.

They decided to go to America after the Comtesse disowned her only daughter. She also labeled him then as a thief.

For she believed that he took her Raphael. It was foolish pride that denied her, her daughter and her granddaughter.

It's up to Serenity to clear her father's name and discover what's beneath that cold pride of her grandmother's. For Serenity is hoping beyond hope that she has just one more family member left in the world.

As for Christophe, he's hoping to win the heart of a feisty American woman and make her his forever.

Seeing how there's french in here you can imagine how I've butchered some of these words in my head lol. It's nice read though, and I'd recommend it.
